Welcome to Driscoll ISD

Welcome to the Driscoll ISD Family!

Meet our new Teachers:

Lea Tandy

Lea Tandy

I'm Lea Tandy and I am so excited to teach 3rd grade math and science! This is my second year teaching and last year I taught 6th grade science in Corpus Christi at Metro e.  In May of 2016 I graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos which is not far from where I grew up. I was born and raised in the Austin area and only moved down to Kingsville with my husband in August of 2016, when we bought our very first house. I love to learn about new and different things so I read articles and watch a lot of documentaries. Though when I am not actively learning, teaching, planning, or grading I enjoy traveling, playing frisbee, playing with our furbabies, renovating our house, and just relaxing a bit.

I am ready for a wonderful year, so lets do this! :)

Welcome Everyone!

My name is Melissa Silvas-Porter. I am a second grade teacher at Driscoll Elementary. I enjoy working with children and helping them discover their potential through education. I believe every child should be valued and treated with respect. By me providing for them and helping them, I gain gratification knowing I am helping them make a positive contribution to our community.
My husband and I have a son and a few fur babies. I am proud to say I am born and raised in Corpus Christi and native to the South Texas region. I graduated from Texas A&M Corpus Christi where I was able to obtain my Bachelors degree in Early Childhood. I look forward to the new school year and eager to see how your children will grow!

Welcome to 2nd grade y’all!
